The rumors of its demise were greatly exaggerated

Brief by Central Staff

Media – October 2001 – Colorado Central Magazine

The review of the novel Fool’s Gold in our September edition observed that the novelist, Rob Schultheis, was a columnist for Inside/Outside Southwest magazine in Durango.

And it went on to say “the last time I saw the magazine before its demise …”

That was incorrect, but it wasn’t the fault of Clint Driscoll, who wrote the review. He told us he wasn’t sure of that magazine’s status.

We thought we were, in that our exchange copy had quit coming a year or two ago. Shortly before that an editor we knew had moved on, so we didn’t know anything directly, but suddenly the magazine’s old mailing address didn’t work. Our magazine and some mail we sent them was returned by the U.S. Postal Service, and we thought they were gone.

But we were wrong. Inside/Outside Southwest is alive and well. They get mail at P.O. Drawer A, Durango CO 81302, and they’re on the web at www.insideoutsidemag.com .
