The letter written last month by Ide Trotter regarding “honest science,” took George Sibley to task for a variety of statements. George can refute the message as he sees fit, but it would be well to present facts as they are used by the scientific community, at least as regards biological evolution.

It is hard to know where to start in my comments about George Sibley’s “Time for a Truce?” in the November Colorado Central. So I’ll start in the middle and work toward the edges.

He quotes from Thomas Kuhn’s “Structure of Scientific Revolutions,” the most cited work of the 20th Century, in an effort to support his questionable thesis that the scientific revolution has not been consummated. The idea that science has not triumphed must have come as a considerable surprise to most of your readers

Gunnison plans to build observatory

A 30-inch telescope is expected to be placed at a new observatory just south of the town of Gunnison. The county government had placed a down payment on the telescope in hopes it will attract professionals, students, and amateur astronomers to the area, reports the Crested Butte News.
