Son-of-a-Gunn won’t be staged until May

The best reason we ever found for driving over Monarch Pass in March won’t happen in March this year.

That’s the annual Son-of-a-Gunn production at the Gunnison Art Center. It’s a satiric revue, usually based on a Broadway production, and previous efforts have had titles like “Gunnisoon,” loosely based on “Brigadoon,” and “Annie Get Your Gunnison.”

It’s usually presented in March, but there were some script problems this year, and so it has been postponed until May. That should make for an easier trip, but then again, considering the 60 inches of snow that Salida got last year in May, it may not.
