In response to some quibbles

Letter from Ralph Rosenberg

Book Review – July 2001 – Colorado Central Magazine

Hi Ed,

Thanks for the nice review of Explore It in your June edition of Colorado Central.

Here is my response to your notes:

1. Agnes Vaille Falls is the correct name. I used the nickname used by locals of Agnes Falls, which I believe is also on the sign post. I will check that next time I am up Chalk Creek. I plead guilty, but only a little bit.

2. Of course with Kit Carson’s death in 1868 he was not hauling freighters over Independence Pass, unless it was in his next life! The sentence should have read “Kit Carson’s cousin, John Christopher Carson, was one of those who…” No excuse for this mistake.

3. If it is an adit, it is not auditable, right? I had it right in the draft, but the dreaded spell check changed it at the final editing. Guilty as charged!

Thanks, Ed for correcting minor errors. I welcome your comments. Changes will be incorporated when we reprint Explore It!, hopefully because the first 1,000 sell out this summer.
