Like other small colleges in small places, Adams State has a profound economic impact on its hometown.

The largest employer in the San Luis Valley, Adams State spends $16.5 million annually on personnel alone. The college spends 88 percent of its budget on staff.

ASC averages 2,400 students. Since half of them come from the Front Range, this also brings a lot of bucks into the Valley, since students need apartments, food, gas, clothing, and of course, beer.

ASC’s annual impact totals over $115 million, according to the college.
