2 big millennial stories got left out of the account

Editors:

I enjoyed Martha’s “A Central Colorado-Centric Synopsis of the Past Millennium”; but she left out a couple of important items:

1600-1699 The Seventeenth Century: America’s first institution of higher learning founded, “A College or Scoale” in the Massachusetts Bay Colony in 1636. When John Harvard left it his library and half his funds, it took his name, opening for business in 1638. It’s still around, mostly in the Boston area.

1800-1899 The Nineteenth Century: A major omission. You left out Colorado’s becoming a state in 1876, hence the “Centennial State”.
